Whitney McVeigh is a contemporary British artist living and working in London. She has travelled extensively for her work, with significant periods spent in Europe, India and China while keeping a home base in the UK. McVeigh has recently returned from artist in residence at the Nirox Foundation in South Africa where she completed a series of works in response to the land there known as the Cradle of Humankind. In 2008 Whitney McVeigh exhibited with Saatchi online at Form Art fair and Concrete and Glass. In March, 2008 she was shown at The Gallery Soho with Belgian photographer Pascal Demeester. In 2009 McVeigh was put forward by the Saatchi Gallery as part of a campaign with Clear Channel as one of Saatchi online’s leading artists. In October 2009 she exhibited at London\\\\\\\'s A Foundation, a solo show curated by Sotiris Kyriacou. A catalogue introduced by JJ Charlesworth was published to coincide with the exhibition. The A Foundation was founded in 1998 by James Moores to facilitate the creation of the Liverpool Biennial.
Whitney McVeigh was nominated by Rebecca Wilson (Saatchi online) in 2008 for the sovereign European Art Prize. In November, 2009 she featured in BBCFour documentary, Where is Modern Art Now, presented by Gus Casely- Hayford. Other artists include Grayson Perry, Cornelia Parker, Sir Anthony Caro, Michael Landy and Tom Price.
